Over the past two months, more than twenty people have been either seriously injured or killed in a series of automobile accidents involving SEPTA buses. In total, SEPTA was involved in four crashes, resulting in one death and 37 injuries. Five people were injured on March 18 when an SUV slammed into a bus after running a red light; the driver of a Chevrolet that collided with a SEPTA route 131 bus was killed while injuring thirteen passengers in the process; fourteen people were hurt in an April 27 crash on Macdade Boulevard in Collingdale, PA; and five passengers were injured in an accident on Germantown Avenue and Wayne Junction. Authorities are continuing to investigate for signs of misconduct in several of the cases. SEPTA bus accidents are a major problem in Philadelphia, and SEPTA Bus Accident Lawsuits must be filed by the bus accident victims if is ever going to address their horrendous safety record.
