Use Caution with Public Transportation: Its Another Summer Full of SEPTA Train and Bus Accidents

An accident involving a SEPTA Norristown high-speed rail line occurred earlier last month, resulting in injuries to seven different passengers. The accident, which took place on July 6 at approximately 7:45 PM, occurred when a train leaving the Penfield Station abruptly disconnected and then reconnected at the Beechwood Brookline station. Tccident is currently under investigation.
A fatal train accident involving SEPTA occurred this past month when a commuter train traveling from downtown Philadelphia to Lansdale/Doylestown struck and killed a 36-year-old man just south of the North Broad Street Station. While the man’s name has not yet been released, circumstances of the accident remain under investigation.
